The status of packaging education in China

The spring breeze of reform and opening up has contributed to the rise and development of the packaging industry and packaging industry, including packaging education. In 1980, the China Packaging Technology Association was established. In 1981, China Packaging Corporation was established. The Chinese packaging industry system began to take shape. In 1982, the China Association for Packing Packaging Education was established. Then the Ministry of Education in 1984 included the packaging engineering major in the undergraduate program. In the major adjustments of the professional catalogues in 1992 and 1997, they were not only retained, but also the trial hats were removed and included in the national undergraduate program of higher education.
The Packaging Education Committee is affiliated to the China Association for the Promotion of Goods, with more than 60 member units and 110 members. It unites the people of insight who are engaged in and care about packaging education throughout the country. It strives to develop the packaging engineering profession into a formal new-type undergraduate major that suits the society, and actively cares about the various forms of talent training that support the packaging education and enables packaging. Education gradually forms a more complete system that basically meets the needs of the country’s urgent need for packaging professionals. The Packaging Education Committee organized and edited textbooks for higher education packaging and reorganization to form a complete series of professional textbooks to meet the teaching needs of schools, and also provided basic content for the theoretical system of packaging science and technology.
Now the specifications of the undergraduate program are clear, and in the second class of light industry textile and food products belonging to the engineering and engineering category, the business training objectives are: to cultivate the capability of packaging system design and management, and to be able to work in the production and distribution of goods, packaging companies, and scientific research. Institutions, foreign trade, commodity inspection and other departments are engaged in senior personnel of packaging system design, quality inspection, technology management and scientific research. Business development requires students to learn the fundamentals of packaging, theory, principles and methods of packaging design, packaging equipment, and other basic knowledge to protect products, facilitate circulation, and promote sales. Specifically embodied in:
1. Master the basic theories of packaging engineering such as engineering mechanics, materials science, biology, and design fine arts;
2, master packaging technology, packaging structure design methods and packaging testing, packaging management technology;
3, have the preliminary ability to formulate packaging process, reasonable choice of packaging materials and packaging equipment;
4, familiar with the country's policies, regulations and policies related to packaging;
5. Understand the frontiers and trends of packaging science;
6. Master the basic methods of document retrieval and data query, and specifically analyze and solve the preliminary technical problems of packaging engineering, research, development of new packaging materials, new structures, new processes, new equipment and technology management.
The objective development of the commodity economy requires packaging to have its own theoretical support, and packaging education plays an important role in this field. Today, packaging science and technology has basically formed its own independent discipline theory. Its theory is collectively referred to as packaging science. This is a science that studies the optimal combination of functions and the formation and play of the laws of packaging. Its research object is package and its formed packaging system. Its theoretical system involves packaging engineering and packaging sociology. It is a comprehensive cross-discipline. The contents of the study include the packaging theory and technology of the packaging process and process, product transport, storage, sales and after-sales processing, etc., related to the package and its circulatory system. Therefore, it uses many basic theories and techniques of traditional disciplines, and establishes its own branch disciplines, including sales packaging (packaging technology and materials, sales packaging design, shelf life theory, etc.), transport packaging (buffer packaging theory , breakage boundary theory, transport packaging technology, etc.), product packaging processes and processes (container manufacturing process, filling technology, wrapping technology, packaging engineering machinery and equipment, etc.), packaging system theory (package life cycle assessment theory, green packaging theory, Packaging distribution and disposal, packaging testing, packaging standards and regulations, etc.).
The rich connotation of packaging science has promoted the prosperity and development of packaging education. Today, there are forty institutions in packaging engineering across the country, with nearly 2,000 graduates each year. Since this program was started, it has been fully positioned to adapt to society's application-type and packaging science and technology disciplines' comprehensive characteristics, which is consistent with the requirements of the development of the times. In the implementation of education, each school has its own strengths and characteristics, focusing on the following points:
1. To highlight the structural design and manufacturing process of packaging containers, and to combine the characteristics of technology and art, packaging and printing;
2, highlight packaging technology, packaging materials, forming a combination of packaging materials and packaging media features;
3, highlight the packaging process, forming a combination of packaging and packaging machinery features;
4, highlight sales packaging, packaging modeling and decoration, forming a combination of packaging technology and art characteristics;
5, highlight the transport packaging, packaging structure, forming a combination of packaging technology and mechanical principles;
6, highlight packaging systems and management, forming a combination of packaging and the environment, packaging and distribution features.
The overall connotation is implemented in accordance with the specifications and basic requirements stipulated by the Ministry of Education, with a focus on but not one-sidedness. Many schools have integrated more of these features to make them more socially adaptable.
