Two new composite insulators passed technical appraisal

State Grid Corporation of China and China National Machinery Industry Federation recently approved the identification of two new product technologies for DC rod-suspended 300-400kn composite insulators and 200kv rod-shaped pillar composite insulators.
The appraisal committee believes that the manufacturing technology and technological level of the stick-suspended 300-400kn composite insulator for DC high-voltage lines are in the international advanced level, and the zinc casting process technology is advanced, which is the first in China; and the 200kv rod-shaped pillar composite insulator adopts advanced technology. The acoustic emission monitoring system has high mechanical strength and small dispersion, filling the domestic gap.
According to experts, these two new product technologies are suitable for ultra-high voltage, large-capacity, long-distance transmission needs, and their weight is only 1/7 of that of traditional porcelain or tempered glass insulators, and they have high strength and strong dirt resistance. The need for cleaning and other features and absolute price advantage represent the future development trend of the insulator industry.
