Color space transfer management technology

Color management refers to the management of the transfer of color space (such as scanners, computer screens, printers, etc.); the management of color consistency, repeatability, or stability that printers have always tried to implement is not included in color management. . It should be noted that the two are different. If only focusing on one side in the actual production process, it is difficult to master the control and stability of the quality.

The CMS is actually able to achieve a visually close and consistent effect when colors appear in different media (spaces), but it cannot manage to maintain a stable reproducibility when colors appear in the same space. That is, after a picture is scanned and actually printed, its color effect can be the most similar, but it cannot guarantee that the second printed one is close to the first one. Thus, when using the same film to print at different times, the consistency of the printed product can be achieved. This involves the scope of the process control of the printing process. In fact, this is also a part of color management. From this, it is inferred that the color space transfer management can be realized, but the management of color repeatability and consistency is ignored, so correct color control should be both.

The color space transfer management can learn from the system whether certain colors can be reproduced by printing, predict the deviation from the final printing, and when the printing is actually done, it can be easier and faster to make proper adjustments on the printing machine. During the adjustment process, the test prints should also be tested and recorded with the instrument measurement data.

The quality of printed matter is digitized and recorded, and each dot only focuses on the dot density, because most people think that controlling the density of dots will indicate that other factors have been controlled. However, measuring the color of prints by the instrument, in addition to the density, can also be learned that: 1 dot gain (dotgain), if the dot is larger, the density will be increased; 2 the effect of color overlap (trapping); 3 color deviation Contrast between (hueerror) and 4 colors. If you can master these data well, you can master the characteristics of the printing process, thus improving the color stability of the printed matter.

However, many people will encounter a question: The data measured by different color measurement instruments are different. Which data should be used? In fact, the color numbers measured by different color measuring instruments must be different. Therefore, when communicating with color data, several restrictions must be observed. First of all, the two sides need to use the same brand and model of color measurement instrument, in addition to measure under the same light source, even at the same temperature and humidity, etc., use the same color meter to get the data is meaningful.
