Starch adhesive formulation and production technology

The formulation and production of starch binders is an extremely sophisticated process. If the formulation is incorrect or there are problems in the production process, it will have a rather adverse effect on the production of cardboard. Therefore, based on your own experience, here is a brief introduction.

The single-faced corrugating machine and corrugated board production line can be based on the two-step method currently used to produce finished product starch adhesive, and appropriately improve the raw material formulation, the proportion of materials and the production process. The specific raw materials used, the ratio and the production method are as follows.

Use raw materials and recipes:

I. Starch (wheat starch, potato starch or potato starch)

In the production and use of the production line of starch adhesives, the use of different starch, the adhesive transparency, adhesive strength, viscosity, gelatinization temperature, etc. are not the same. As long as we have a good understanding of the properties of various types of starch and the role of other chemical raw materials in the production of adhesives, further rational adjustment of the formula can make an ideal adhesive. Under the same conditions, in order to increase the speed, wheat starch and tapioca starch with low gelatinization temperature can be selected; in order to improve the bonding strength, tapioca starch and potato starch with strong adhesion can be selected.

The amount of starch can be appropriately changed according to the specific requirements of the bonding object, such as:

1 single-faced corrugated board production, lower requirements for adhesives, starch dosage: 150 ~ 170kg / t plastic.

2 In the production of three-layer corrugated board, the single-faced corrugated cardboard is compounded with the surface paper, and the adhesive is required to be slightly higher. The amount of starch is: 170-200 kg/ton of glue.

3 Corrugated cardboard combined with noodles in the production of five-layer and seven-layer corrugated cardboard. The binder requirements are relatively high, starch dosage: 200 ~ 300kg / t plastic.

Second, automatic line dedicated desiccant (short for raw desiccant)

Automatic line special desiccant is formed by the polymerization reaction of various salts and organic compounds. In the production process of adhesives, as long as the dosage is appropriate, it not only accelerates the speed of the conjunctiva of the adhesive, but also shortens the drying time of the carton and improves the drying speed and hardness of the paperboard. Adhesive strength of about 30%, thickness increase 0.1 ~ 1mm, etc.; per ton of glue with 3 ~ 5kg, can reduce the amount of starch about 20% or reduce the weight of corrugated board paper 10 ~ 20g/m2, the performance indicators are better than the country Export standards. The amount of desiccant for automatic line is less than 2kg per ton of glue in the adhesive, and the amount of glue per ton is higher than 8kg, and it is easy to produce cardboard brittleness. Therefore, we must strictly control the proportion of the normal dosage of 3 ~ 6kg / t plastic.

Third, pasting agent

Industrial caustic soda (NaOH, this technology requires more than 96% of the content), the amount of caustic soda to be added to the starch liquid, the carrier body is mixed and stirred evenly, the viscosity of the adhesive is adjusted. Under the same conditions, the greater the amount of caustic soda, the higher the viscosity, the binder does not produce precipitation stratification phenomenon when stored; the smaller the amount of caustic soda, the lower the viscosity. The amount of caustic soda should be observed from the actual, adjusted according to viscosity requirements.

Fourth, crosslinker

By adding borax or boric acid to the binder, short-chain starch can form complexes with its hydroxyl or hydroxyl groups and boron atoms. Through these irregular cross-links, a network structure is formed, which has a cross-linking and thickening effect, which is favorable for improving the early stage. Sticking force and accelerating the drying speed also play a role in antisepsis and anti-seepage. The amount of borax is adjusted according to the corrugated paper and face paper used in the production of corrugated board. The quality of the paper is poor, and the amount of borax is appropriately increased. The quality of the paper, especially the imported sizing paper, may not be used or the amount of borax may be appropriately reduced.

Fifth, water resistance enhancer

Water-resistant enhancer is an additive used in the production of water resistant paper products such as coated paper, white paperboard, double-stick paper, boxboard, etc. It is added in papermaking paste or carton starch adhesive to increase the wet and dry strength and water resistance of paper and carton. To prevent paper from falling into powder, etc.; use 5~10kg per ton of glue; do not open glue in cardboard at 12~72 hours in normal temperature water, and the corrugated will not be deformed; directly add water resistance enhancer to pulp or starch gum and stir for 20 minutes. Can be used, in the case of better than the original performance indicators, can reduce the amount of starch and corrugated board paper weight. (Because this product is easy to use without changing the original production process and formula, no detailed formula is listed here.)

Formula and production process: (Unit: kg)

Process flow one:

Carrier (water + starch + caustic soda) + main body (water + starch + automatic desiccant + borax)
1, the raw material on the kettle is added to the stirred tank in sequence, and the reaction is performed for 10 to 20 minutes;
2, the next kettle raw material is added to the next stirred tank, stirring for 10 to 20 minutes;
3. Add the gel on the kettle slowly to the lower kettle and stir for 20-40 minutes.

Process II:

According to the special circumstances of some enterprises, in the absence of the main body and carrier production equipment, an agitator can be used for production. According to the formula in the above table, the carrier is processed in the reaction kettle first, and then the moisture in the main body is divided into two parts; first, the water and starch with the same weight as the starch, the desiccant, and the borax are mixed and mixed; and the remaining water is added into the reaction kettle; After stirring evenly, the standby mixture was added to the reactor and stirred for 30 minutes.

Precautions:

1. After adding automatic desiccant, the viscosity will be appropriately reduced. During the production process, the amount of caustic soda should be adjusted, the caustic soda should be used to control the viscosity, the amount of caustic soda should be increased by using too much glue, and the amount of caustic soda should be reduced if it is too thick;

2, single-sided machine and three-layer line viscosity control: 20 to 50 seconds;

3, 5 and 7 layer viscosity control in 50 ~ 90 seconds, special circumstances, according to the requirements to adjust the adhesive viscosity;

4. If degumming occurs on the corrugated board produced on the three-layer or five-layer automatic line and there is a 1 to 2cm bond on both sides of the board, check if 1 is too small; 2 if the viscosity of the adhesive is too low;

5, the production companies can also join the original line of raw rubber dedicated desiccant according to the original production line raw rubber process. After the raw rubber is made, the raw rubber desiccant is directly added into the finished rubber and can be used after stirring for 20 minutes. The raw rubber desiccant is acidic, and the viscosity of the glue will be appropriately reduced after mixing with the raw rubber. In application, the amount of caustic soda should be properly increased in the raw rubber process formula, and about 0.5 kg caustic soda is used per ton of raw starch glue. (Text / Chen Baoyuan)
