Cold Printing UV Technology

Cold stamping is a method of transferring foil to a substrate using glue. Its advantages are:

Cold press printing has been proven to be used in narrow flexo presses, narrow flexo presses, and waterless Offset machines.
Cold printing can be accomplished using either wet or dry lamination.
1. Wet method printing method ---
The image is printed on the substrate → The cold foil is attached to the substrate with a press roller → The UV glue on the substrate is dried with a UV lamp to make the image sticky → The excess foil is removed. However, precautions that must be taken when printing include:
(1) The glue can be printed on the aqueous solvent type and UV ink surface.
(2) There is a limit to the printing speed.
(3) The tension control of the foil and the substrate is very important.
(4) The pressure roller must be installed before and behind the UV lamp.
(5) Patterns such as thin lines, cutouts, and fine dots can be printed.
2. The printing method of the dry method is ---
The image is printed on the substrate → The UV glue on the substrate is dried with a UV lamp to make the image sticky → Immediately use the pressure roller to transfer the foil to the bonded image and remove the excess foil.
Precautions:
(1) The glue cannot be printed on the surface of undried water-based or solvent-based inks.
(2) The glue must not be too dry or dry.
(3) Fit within 5" behind the UV lamp.
(4) When the foil and the substrate are attached, a high hardness roller and high pressure must be used.

1. The quality of cold stamping depends on the quality of the glue being printed, so the printing experience is extremely important.
2. Cold foil printing can currently only be printed on smooth surfaces and has not yet been printed on rough surfaces such as leather.
3. The glue on the rough substrate will be absorbed so that the surface of the substrate will not have enough glue to print cold.
4. At present, it is only possible to use printing on roll-shaped substrates.
