U.S. CGC has recently developed a stripping device for round molds

The Container Graphics Corporation of the United States (abbreviated as CGC) recently obtained U.S. Patent No. 6,925,918 B1, which is entitled "Cleaning Device for Circular Press Die Cutting Machine for Die-cutting Corrugated Cardboard". This patent has the CGC StripletsTM trademark. The product developed by CGC can improve the effect of fine dicing and swarf removal that is stuck on the circular press die, thus making the die-cutting product more tidy, improving the production efficiency and improving the die-cutting quality.

The Stripslets were originally designed to solve a customer's problem. The customer's corrugated boxes required one hundred percent removal of die-cut confetti pieces. This work required three people to do it manually. With Stripslets, the customer's product is able to consistently remove 100 percent of die-cut crumbs in high-speed, one-to-three die-cutting operations.

At present, with the increasing demand for automatic packaging equipment, the precision requirements of the packaging industry have become increasingly stringent. The use of Stripslets is particularly effective when a lot of complex cuts are involved in the die-cut design or when the customer is required to effectively remove die-cut scraps during die-cutting.

Stripslets consist of two sets of elastic members: a base pad and spring bars inserted into the base pad and protruding from the mold. When strip-slets enter the embossing zone of the die-cutting machine, the strips are bent in the upper part of the mat and both parts act simultaneously, just like the stripping sponge in the traditional die-cutting. In an embossed area, the elastic strip begins to recover, rebounding the scraps of paper, and when the elastic strip eventually releases the control of the fragments of the scraps of paper, the scraps of paper are thrown downwards, leaving the die-cut. Corrugated products. This process maximizes the removal of die-cut scraps, while increasing production efficiency and reducing downtime.

Both parts of the product are made from a white polyurethane elastomer material. This material has good elasticity. The base mat is about 5/8 inch thick and is suitable for die cutting tools from 0.97 inch to 1.030 inch high.

The bases of the Stripslets are tailored to the stripped die-cut shape, with a slight cushioning between the base pad and the surrounding die-cutting tool. The elastic bar can be round and square, depending on the size of the die cut.

This product is best suited for high-volume orders because scrapping is important and cost-effective for such orders.
