Lubricating substances - lubricants are added between the friction surfaces to form a lubricating film, so that the friction surface is free from direct friction for the purpose of reducing friction and reducing wear. This is called lubrication.

(1) The effect of lubrication

1) Use oil to form an oil film on the two relative moving surfaces to reduce the wear of the parts.
2) The flow of lubricating grease can play a role of heat absorption, heat transfer, and heat dissipation, and reduce the frictional temperature between the friction surfaces, so that the parts will not bite into each other due to excessive heat expansion.
3) The lubricating oil adheres to the surface of the part and can protect the surface of the part and prevent rust.
4) The oil film formed by lubricating grease greatly reduces the friction coefficient, which can reduce frictional resistance and power consumption.
5) Lubricating oil can play a damping role.
6) Lubricating oil can clean the surface of parts. 7) The oil film formed by the lubricant can disperse the contact stress on the surface of the part.
8) Lubricant can also seal air, prevent dust from entering and protect parts.

(2) Selection of lubricating oil

1) Lubricant requirements: low surface friction coefficient, good adsorption and wedging ability, suitable cohesion (viscosity), high purity and stability of oxidation.

2) Selection of lubricating oil

The choice of oil number is generally based on the speed and load of the machine. High-viscosity, low-load, relative-motion contact surfaces use low-viscosity oils; otherwise, high-viscosity oils are used. Domestic equipment belongs to light and medium loads, and the selected oil number can be smaller, usually 30-40 oils are used. The imported equipment belongs to medium and heavy loads (shoulder iron), and the selected oil number should be larger, usually using 60-70 oil.

The choice of oil number is not fixed, so it is necessary to make corresponding changes according to different working environments. Large gap friction surface should use high viscosity oil, so that the lubricating oil adheres to form an oil film; and the small gap friction surface and components through the small tubing oil should use small viscosity oil, so that the oil wedge and flow. Changes in temperature also affect the choice of oil. For example, high-temperature butter (grease) should be used for the long-term high-temperature areas of the book binder, the chain, and the plastic binder.

(3) lubrication points

　　 1) Change oil regularly. After the new machine is used for 2 to 3 weeks, the oil should be changed completely. After that, the oil is changed every 3 to 6 months. Clean the fuel tank, oil pump, filter, and parts on the wall plate every time you change oil. For example, ZYB oil lubricated air pump should be changed after 300 hours of operation, and should be changed once every 3000 hours.

2) The various filters in the oil circuit should be cleaned periodically. Ultra-fine filters should generally be replaced every time. Tubing and pressure nozzles should be purged with high-pressure air guns so as to ensure the smooth flow of oil.

3) For the oil with oil, special oil can be used, and oil with 50 or more is generally used.

4) When filling butter (grease), it should be advisable to see the new oil and squeeze the old dirty oil out of the friction surface, so that there will be little friction debris and dirt in the old oil.

5) Before the refueling, the grade and quality of the oil should be carefully checked, and the oils of different brands cannot be mixed and refueled. Never use gasoline or kerosene in oil, and you should not use it as oil.

6) All manual lubrication points on some imported machines have special signs. For example, the red, yellow, blue, and green symbols on Heidelberg’s aircraft indicate daily, weekly, monthly, and annual lubrication.

7) Domestic machines also use manual refueling signs, such as J2108 and other machines. Solid circles and hollow circles each indicate that day 50 oil is added once a week. Solid triangles and hollow triangles add butter once a week and every six months.

8) Some parts of the machine that use friction transmission or braking cannot be refueled and should be kept clean. For example, the clutch must be refueled, but the brake pads and brake discs must not be refueled; the chain sprocket must be refueled, but the drive belts, pulleys and friction wheels must not be refueled.

9) According to the customary line refueling, no leakage added. At the same time check the tubing, oil eye blockage and timely dredge.

10) Common refueling sites include: gears, cams, sprockets, chains, guide rails, clutches, universal joints, open and close teeth, open and close tooth plates, rocker bars, swing frames, connecting rods, bearings, etc. The paper feed teeth, impression cylinder teeth, take-up roller teeth, and take-up teeth row should be cleaned once a month and lubricated.
