- Moving up to the next level Following the manual uplifting process is the use of semi-automated or fully automated machines (Figure 5) for uplift production. Rising machines can meet high productivity requirements, have a relatively large economy, and reduce the cost of individual products. For fully automatic uplift production, the ideal is to be able to have multiple coated tubes and accurately apply a row of labels at a time and again, all the time. Practice has proved that it is entirely possible to produce more than 16 tags in a matter of seconds, depending on the size and shape of the tags. However, before considering the performance of the machine, it is best to consider the difference between the value of manual production and automation to see if it is necessary to perform automation. This feature completely reduces the cleaning time at work and keeps all parts and pipes clean, so the machine can work at a faster speed. The equipment that produces the bulge is multi-tube and multi-connected, which replaces the single mixing and coating tube of the manual system. Multi-tube and multi-connection can make a row of badges to be raised in the same cycle. When evaluating a raised machine, consider the type of job you are expected to do. If you want to plan for a bulging complex shape, you may need to consider a highly complex machine with CNC control that gives x and y coordinates. The more basic machines have the ability to elevate larger, more complex labels by using a simple home-made stencil to properly position the transfer tube. Other considerations As mentioned earlier, the choice of machine is only the beginning of manual operations to automated operations. The machine needs to set aside its own space, and the size must be large enough to cure. The machine is working faster. If there is not enough space, it may soon be full. Space should include some garbage collection to keep the entire space clean. Hard floors, preferably tiled or painted concrete floors, must also be flat. Use latex paint walls and ceilings to reduce dust while also sealing all window and door frame gaps. Do not forget that liquid polyurethane is hyper-sensitive to moist air, so keep the relative humidity at 35% at 70 degrees Fahrenheit. Most air conditioners do not need to worry about overheating and excessive humidity, but if there is no air conditioning in the workshop, there should be a better ventilation unit. If you cannot adjust the temperature and humidity of the workshop, it is best to install a small dehumidifier and install a thermometer and hygrometer to monitor the environmental conditions. Thermometers and hygrometers are available at any home tool or electronics store. Further improve your product quality The foregoing information makes a basic description of uplift. When the process is relatively simple, the situation is not too bad without experience or detailed details. Screen printing is quite simple, but it still faces great challenges. Therefore, the support provided by equipment or consumables suppliers is very important to you, especially at the beginning, and you must carefully study and master each step of the process.
