First, the style of the bed
There are many different styles of beds. Here we introduce the most commonly used ones.
The first major category is our most common bed (Figure 1). It is usually divided into bed headboard, referred to as HB, footboard footboard, FB (some beds have no bed tail), and two sides of the rail (handrail), which are on both sides of the bed. Support bar.
Figure 1
There are also several wooden strips and support underneath in the bed (Figure 2). This kind of bed needs to buy a spring bed seat, and can't put the mattress directly.
Figure II
Some beds are provided with bed slats (that is, the kind of wood support like a row of skeletons) (Figure 3), there is no need for a spring bed, you can put the mattress directly on the slats, so the height of the bed It will be shorter than the box.
Figure III
There are many stores on the market that sell such beds. When picking, it should be noted that the wooden strips of such beds sold by some merchants are very soft or easy to be misplaced. The support ability is not very good after a long time, so even if the money of the bed box is saved, it is not durable.
Or there are beds on the market with such bed slats, not the kind of slats that can be folded, but the four sides are fixed, like Figure 4. This way, the skeleton can be placed directly on the mattress.
Figure 4
Second, the height of the bed and the choice of spring bed
Figure 5: Above the mattress is a spring bed seat (bed box or bed box)
When it comes to the height of the bed, I have to mention a word called spring box (Chinese called bed box or bed box). As shown in Figure 5.
In general, the spring box has a lot of specifications to choose from, from 2", 4", 6", 8", etc., the more commonly used is 6", but you can buy 2", and also thicker with the above slats Little by little.
Usually people in North America like high beds, almost as tall as a table. China is a short bed. And they all have the kind of bed board. So if you don't like the high bed, you should pay special attention to this problem when you buy the bed. Otherwise, the height of the bed itself plus the spring box plus the mattress may exceed the height you can accept. If you like a low bed, you can choose low profile when you buy a bed, or choose platform beds. You really need to use spring box, or you can choose 2" spring box or bed slats.
In general it is difficult to buy a separate bed slats (that is, Figure 4), the kind of bed slats are all equipped when you buy the bed. There are very few to buy separately. And in fact, this slats is not as good as box spring, because box spring is a whole plane, which is better for the support and protection of the mattress. So if you like a short bed, I recommend a box spring with 2" or 4".
Also related to the height of the bed is the type of bed. There is a kind of bed called platform (Figure 6). The literal meaning of platform is platform. It means that the bed itself has a platform. The platform of the platform does not need box spring. Simply place the mattress on the bed of the platform. When you buy a bed, check with the seller to see if you need a box spring.
Figure 6
Then, for a bed that is not a platform, then you need to match box spring. Usually the place to sell mattresses is equipped with box spring, and the place where the bed is sold will also sell box spring. As long as you can say the specifications of the mattress or the size of the bed, then everyone's standard size is the same.
If your bed is King size, then the box spring is 2 pieces (two pieces), see Figure 7.
Figure 7
If your bed is of normal size, then you don't need 2 pieces of box spring, normal is enough, as shown in Figure 8.
Figure VIII
The thickness of the box spring is optional. Many brands produce box springs of different thicknesses to suit different requirements.
But one thing to pay special attention to is not to notice the thickness of the bed plus the box spring, but also the height of the bed. For this type of bed (Figure 9), you can choose box spring and mattress of any height, because its bed is always to the end.
Figure IX
Special attention should be paid to the following bed head (Figure 10), which is not always underneath the Headboard, and there may be gaps in the mattress. The height of this gap is determined by the thickness of the box spring+mattress. If the box spring+mattress you choose is too short, the height of the gap may be very large, and even the pillow will fall inside.
Figure ten
In general, if your mattress is 9", then choose 2" box spring, you should beware of this problem. Usually if the thickness of box spring+mattress is 15" or more, then the problem is not big.
So there is another bed called low profile, which is a specially designed low bed, suitable for some older people, or customers who like low beds.
Low profile bed
There is also a bunk bed, which means that the bunk bed does not need to be equipped with box spring. Anyway, when buying a bed, you need to confirm if you need box spring. Don't waste it. The price of the box spring generally accounts for about 20~25% of the whole set price.
Bunk bed
If you want a short bed, you can buy that kind of bed, it’s all the way to the end, and then you want to be short, use a 2" box spring, plus 9" mattress, the total height is about 11", then add Up to the floor 10", so the height of the total bed from the floor is 21", which is 53CM, this is very short. If you think it is still high, buy the mat, which is about 1.5" Thickness, then put a cushion on your own. In fact, the bed is too short to sleep uncomfortable.
